| Throughout Peace's production life, Peace appeared in 6 different color styles; Autumn, neon, pastel, spring, summer transitional and old style/vivid. There is also the whitewashed effect, as well as the solids/pajamas. Below is a detailed description of each category. |
Autumn: Autumn Peace bears are generally easy to spot because of their camouflaged coloring. With their dark browns and army greens, these bears really stand out among other brighter colored Peaces. This color style began appearing on the market around September 1998, and lasted through January 1999. Although the tush tag number found on Autumn bears is usually 115, they can also come with 100, 101, 102, 112, 113, 116, 120 and 121. |

Neon: Neon Peace bears are a general favorite among collectors because of the vibrant--and almost glowing--colors. This color style began showing up in spring of 1998, shortly after Ty corrected the tag spelling errors. Neons are generally found with the tush tag number 102, or none at all! |

Pastel: One of the most sought after color styles of Peace bears are the pastels. Pastel bears are harder to find, which has caused speculation about how long this method of Ty-Dye was in production. To be classified as pastel, the bear should have no dark colors or brown at all. The tush tag numbers typically found on pastel Peace bears are 101 or 102, or no number. Indonesian pastel bears are even harder to find! Another hard-to-find pastel Peace bear is a bear that is “whitewashed.” |
Whitewashed: Some pastel Peaces will be referred to as whitewashed. These are generally harder to find than a regular pastel. These bears are even lighter, and should include patches in the fur that appear to be almost or completely white! |

Spring: Spring Peace bears began appearing on the market in February of 1999, and continued until Peace’s retirement. Bears in this color category usually have few browns and dark greens, and are brighter than autumn colored Peaces. The tush tag numbers most often found on the spring Peace bears are 112 and 115, but can also be found with numbers 101, 102, 110, 111, 116 and 119. |

Summer Transitional: Summer transitional Peace bears’ colors are a cross between a vivid and a neon. These bears were mostly seen on the market in the summer of 1998. These bears typically have tush tag numbers 102, 107, 108, 110, 114, 115, 116 and 119, with “TY INC.” in all caps. |

Vivid/Old Style: The first Peace bears ever released fall into this color category. These bears usually have PVC pellets and a 4th generation hang tag, but some appeared in 1998 with 5th generation tags and PE pellets. These Peaces are very similar in looks to Garcia, just with the peace sign (thus, the “old style”). The colors are usually darker than other Peace bears. Peace bears classified as vivid should have the Fareham, Hants Ty Europe location inside the hang tag, and generally have scrunched up faces. |

Solids & Pajama: Peace bears will sometimes be referred to as “solid” or “pajama” because of their colors. When they say this, they are referring to the colors on the front of the bear. Solid Peaces have one solid color on the front, and are very hard to find! While there is no definite definition as to how much of the bear has to be one color, the solid color often extends down part of the arms and legs, making Peace look like it is wearing PJ’s! |
