| In 2001, for the first time since the McDonald's Teenie Beanies, Ty created a miniature version of some of the most popular Beanies. But this time, there was a new twist: Instead of them coming in a bag with a greasy hamburger and fries, they could be found at any Ty Retailer. They also had little string "loops" so they could be hung up. The Jingle Beanie was born! These minny-me Beanies were specially desgined to be hung on a Christmas tree for the holiday season. There have been three sets of Jingle Beanies since 2001. The first set (2001 set) included one of the most popular bears of all time: Peace (see picture below). Also in the set of 2001 Jingles, were Twigs, Halo, Lucy, Rover, Quackers, and the 1997, 1998 and 1999 Holiday Teddies. Click here to veiw the official announcement. In the two following sets (2002 and 2003) of Jingle Beanies, little jingle bells have to placed inside the beanbag to create a jingling sound every time they move. Ty has also introduced Basket Beanies, similar to Jingle Beanies, only miniature Easter themed Beanies! Photo taken by David Vogel, directly after 7" of snow fell |
