Q I have a commemorative Peace bear that I don't know much about.  Where can I find information about it?
A Peace Mania has recently added a new section:  Peace's Promotions and Commemorations.  Hopefully you can find what you are looking for there.

Q I read somewhere that sometimes people enhance the colors of the Peace bears by using black lights.  Is this true?  And if so, how can you tell when they do?
A It is true that some people inhance the colors of Peace bears to make them look more appealing when selling them, like on ebay.
Whenever I'm looking at Peace bears online, and the colors seem too good to be true, I do two things:
1.)  Look at the reflection in the nose or eyes.  If the reflection is purple instead of regular lightbulb colors, that probably means that they have a black light on them
2.)  Also look at the "ty" on the hangtag.  If that is light purple instead white, they probably used a black light.
Of course, making a Peace bear have brighter colors isn't limited to using a blacklight.  This includes doctoring the image on a computer.  It is nearly impossible to tell if the seller did that, unless they did a very bad job.  The only suggestion I have for that would be to email the seller and ask, but there's always the possibility that the seller could lie.
